About the Work
In Exhausted, I focus on the body withdrawing from the demands of everyday life. The sleeping figure embraces a pillow within the familiarity of a domestic setting. I use this unposed and unguarded state to consider fatigue, vulnerability and the need for physical and emotional retreat. Layered colour, fabric and painterly surfaces create a sense of enclosure and connect the work to my continuing interest in wellbeing and private human experience.
